Vince Paul

At age 51, Mr. Paul is one of the country’s leading performing arts managers serving as President and Artistic Director of the Music Hall Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Detroit. He is highly experienced in both the artistic and operational sides of the business. Currently managing a $5,000,000 annual budget, staff of 22 full time and over 220 part time employees and volunteer corps, he presents some of the biggest names in show business as well as the world’s most renowned attractions in theatre, music, circus and dance.

A Detroit native, Vince earned his theatrical arts degree from Michigan State University before moving to New York City. He spent over 20 years working for Broadway shows and world-recognized dance and music companies. By travelling to over 40 countries and all 50 states, Vince was able to cultivate relationships with artists and community leaders that linked audiences to new expressions and cultures from the beaches of Cuba to the rainforests of Africa and the bustling cities of China.  In 1994, he formed World Arts Inc., a leading arts agency located in New York City that specialized in importing classical and folkloric arts, delighting audiences with often never before seen entertainment from the four corners of the planet.

He now devotes his energies to maintaining the Music Hall Center’s position as a national leader in jazz, dance, theatre and cultural presentations. As chief executive officer and community leader, he is responsible for producing, developing, and programming over 200 performances, special events and a yearly jazz festival. His five performing arts education programs touch the lives of over 20,000 students annually. He is also responsible for the substantial fundraising required for the yearly operation of a legendary and historic facility. Built in 1928 by Matilda Dodge Wilson, Music Hall has presented more legendary performers than any single theatre in America Since Mr. Paul’s administration began in 2006, attendance has increased to over 250,000 patrons per year, the highest level in the 85 years of Music Hall’s operation. His vision, leadership and entrepreneurial spirit has inspired the community to fund the Hall’s complete restoration and create the famous Jazz Café in its lower lobby which has become one of America’s leading jazz venues. He has even developed the rooftop of the Music Hall into one the hottest nightclubs in Detroit. The 3Fifty Terrace also produces concerts, corporate parties and weddings.  In addition, he oversees Music Hall’s weekly radio programs and occasional worldwide television broadcasts.
