Board President Meg Paul
Meg Gurin-Paul received her early training with Southern Ballet Theatre in Orlando, Florida. After winning the International Dance Competition of the Americas, Meg was invited to train on full scholarship at the Joffrey Ballet School in New York City. At fifteen, Meg began her professional career touring with the Joffrey Ballet Concert Group and the Joffrey Ballet II apprentice company. She was promoted to the Joffrey Ballet at nineteen, rising through the ranks to perform leading roles in ballets such as The Nutcracker-Sugar Plum Fairy, Love Songs, Italian Suite, La Vivandiere Pas De Six, The Clowns, Valentine, Suite Saint-Saens, Light Rain, Billboards, Les Sacre Du Printemps, A Trifling and more. Vice President / Interim Secretary Ronnie Plasters
Ronnie joined RDJD in 2011 after encountering Ron’s work for the first time. Mesmerized not only by Ron’s choreography but also by the stories of dancers impacted by Ron’s vision, he quickly jumped at the opportunity to serve on the board. In 2015, He was appointed Vice President and Interim Secretary. In these roles, Ronnie supports both the artistic director and the president with a specific focus on development and donor relations. Treasurer Michael Jay Anderson
Michael Jay Anderson, an accomplished fundraising professional, is a longtime advocate of arts and education. Beginning his career as a professional dancer for the prestigious Joffrey Ballet, Michael has since taken center stage as an administrative and fundraising professional, responsible for the promotion and financial development for higher education and arts & culture. Sue Carey was born in Cheltenham, England. After her father was killed in the Second World War, they moved to the projects where Sue grew up. Sue went on to study opera and appeared in many stage and TV productions. At 19 Sue joined the Clyde Beatty Cole Brothers Circus and came to the US. She then joined the Wagonvord Broadcasting Company in New Orleans. She then joined the Weigel Broadcasting Company in Chicago and started an on air television show for stocks and commodities. She then became a stock/options and commodity broker. Sue co wrote a musical, Africa and Plumbridge, which won the New York International Fringe Festivals Best New Song Writers Award. Sue and her husband Thomas have seven biological children, four guardianed children and 19 grandchildren. Sue’s husband was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, she has devoted her time to investing and trading.
At age 51, Vince Paul is one of the country’s leading performing arts managers serving as President and Artistic Director of the Music Hall Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Detroit. He is highly experienced in both the artistic and operational sides of the business. Currently managing a $5,000,000 annual budget, staff of 22 full time and over 220 part time employees and volunteer corps, he presents some of the biggest names in show business as well as the world’s most renowned attractions in theatre, music, circus and dance. Patrick Field joined the board of Ron De Jesus Dance in 2015. He is on staff at Wayne State University in Detroit, responsible for overseeing Graduate and Undergraduate students interested in lighting and sound design. Patrick received his BFA in Lighting Design in 2008 from Wayne State University. He also holds an MFA in Theatre Management as well as a Masters in Business Administration both awarded in 2015. Patrick designs lighting for theatre and dance in Detroit and the surrounding region.
Brian Bowser joined the board of Ron De Jesus Dance in 2015, after having volunteered for the organization and supporting the company as an audience member for several years. As a native of Indiana, Brian was exposed to the arts at an early age which led to a deep appreciation of and support of all types of artistic expression. Though he is a newcomer to the world of professional dance, he is eager to help support Ron’s artistic vision and use his prior experience with non-profits and technology to help promote and support Ron de Jesus Dance. Prior to relocating to Chicago in 2013, Brian served as Treasurer of a non-profit in Indianapolis, IN. He currently works as a network engineer for PDQ Enterprises LLC, a Alternative Trading System in Glenview, IL.
